Getting started: zero to your first reviewed photo
1. Create your household
Sign up with your email and give your household a name. A "household" is just your yard plus the people who help take care of it — you can invite a spouse or roommate later from Settings, and everyone sees the same photos, tasks, and proposals.
2. Run the two-minute setup
The welcome wizard asks two things: how many sprinkler zones you have (a guess is fine — count the stations on your controller box) and what hardware you own. Neither is required. If you have no sprinkler system at all, skip it; photo reviews and tasks work exactly the same.
3. Take your first yard walk
- Open My Yard and tap the big Add photos button.
- Choose Camera — it stays open between shots, so you can walk the whole yard snapping as you go.
- Get wide shots of each lawn area and close-ups of anything that looks wrong: brown spots, wilting, weird leaves, mushrooms.
- 10–20 photos is a great first walk. Tap Done, then Upload.
You don't need to write anything. If you leave the note blank, the AI runs its standard review: check everything for disease, pests, water stress, and mowing problems, and recommend fixes. Add a note only when you want it to focus ("is this fungus?").
4. Read your reviews
Reviews land on the Photos tab within a few minutes — tap any photo to see what the AI found. Anything needing hands-on work (spray this, prune that, water deeper here) appears on the Today tab as a task, and each task links to a how-to.
5. Approve watering proposals
When photos justify a watering change, a blue proposal card appears on the Today tab: which zone, what change, for how long, and the photo that caused it. Approve or reject with one tap. Every change is capped, logged, and expires back to your normal schedule automatically.
The weekly rhythm
- Once a week: walk, snap, upload. Ten minutes.
- After upload: skim findings, approve or reject proposals.
- Through the week: knock out tasks as you have time — they wait patiently.
