RainMachine

In development

by Green Electronics

RainMachine controllers (Mini-8, Touch HD-12, Touch HD-16, Pro) are a favorite for exactly the reason they fit Lawn Focus so well: a fully documented local API and per-zone program control, with weather intelligence built in. Your controller keeps doing its own weather skips; Lawn Focus layers photo-driven, plant-aware adjustments on top.

How it works with Lawn Focus

  • Your weekly photos generate watering proposals — "+15% on the back lawn for 10 days" — that you approve with one tap.
  • A small bridge on your home network talks to the RainMachine local API and scales your existing program run times by the approved amount. Your baseline programs are never replaced, only scaled.
  • RainMachine's own weather adjustments stay in charge of day-to-day weather — Lawn Focus never duplicates or fights them.
  • Every adjustment expires automatically and your controller drifts back to its normal schedule.

Getting set up

Want in early?

RainMachine is the next integration being built. If you own one, say so during onboarding (or message Steven) — early testers get assisted setup the moment it ships, and your controller model helps prioritize which units get tested first.

Until then: manual mode

Approve proposals as normal; the Zones tab shows exact per-zone minutes to set in the RainMachine app. Takes about two minutes a week.

RainMachine runs its API locally on your controller — your credentials and your yard data never route through a third-party cloud for this integration.

Every feature works today in manual mode

Photo reviews, proposals, and guardrails don't wait on hardware.
